Home Away From Home: How Do I Choose The Best Hotel?

By Joseph Tranturder

Choosing a hotel can be a difficult decision. You might want to try and go cheap but are afraid of living in a dump. Maybe it is a special occasion and you want to make sure you have all the amenities that you are hoping to get on your vacation get-a-way. Hotels have so many different features and different angles; it can be hard to choose just one. Below is a list a few ways to help you determine where to stay at and to help you find the best hotels in the US.

No matter how nice the hotel, nobody wants to break the bank of an overnight stay at a hotel. Considering the price can easily be the first place to start when looking for your home away from home. If the price is low, maybe consider why it is so low.

The first thing you should do when looking for a hotel is determine what price range you fall into. While everybody would love to try out the Ritz-Carlton, it is simply not an option for a majority of the population. So be honest with yourself and decide how much you will be willing to pay for a hotel.

Do something educational. Museums, classes, and poetry readings can be a great way to do something with your significant other while learning and growing together. This doesn't mean that you need to take it too seriously, have fun! Look around the museum for your favorite piece, and give interpretations!

While the first thing we generally think of when it comes to a stay in a hotel is the great view or beautiful room, it is actually the staff more than anything else that can make or break your stay. Think about it. Who is responsible for cleaning your room, making your food, placing reservations, and ensuring you feel comfortable during your time there?

Do something romantic. Sometimes you need a getaway even when you can't get away. Try having dinner at a hotel, like Hotel Zero Degrees. Sometimes hotels offer dinner and stay packages that are fun, romantic, and almost completely planned for you.

Do something random. Spend time at a bookstore or the mall or even at the Hotel Zero Stamford Boutique, find items that you think describe yourself, and your partner, and see how well you know one another. Make it a game, and reward each other with something delicious or movie tickets for a future date.

Choose a hotel that puts you closest to the places you want to be. If you are unsure about what locations are good in a new area, read the customer reviews. People usually comment on the location of the hotel when they review it.

Choosing the right hotel does take some work. However, it is always a better alternative to arriving at your dream destination and realizing that your hotel is not good enough to suit your needs. So take a couple of minutes to figure out what kind of hotel is best for you before you book your stay.
