There are so many things to see in colorful and interesting Peru. Cusco, the beautiful center of Inca's empire is the first destination of your travel. On your way to legendary city in the middle of Sacred Valley, you will be able to stop in Ollantayatambo, with beautiful Inca's fortress. The train will take you from there to the Sacred Valley, along the Urumba River.

Machu Picchu was built in the fifteenth century, most probably during the reign of Pachacuti. This masterpiece of Inca's architecture is really incredible. Precisely shaped stones form walls resistant to earthquakes, and this was really important in this area, with so high seismic activity. There was no need for mortar here, the stones were so precisely adjusted. Some reconstructing works were done here, but most parts are saved as they were.

People lived here only for a century or so. It is still unknown why they have decided to leave. Some scientists think that it was due to smallpox epidemic. Isolated and surrounded by the jungle, the place remained forgotten for centuries. It was discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.

The city is built in very heart of the sacred land, and that's why some believe it was built to honor it. There are different opinions about it. For example, Bingham thought that it was built for the Virgins of the Sun. Until the real Lost City of the Inca's was found, some thought that Machu Picchu was the famous lost town. I any case, this is one incredible place to see, and you shouldn't miss the opportunity to explore it.

The Galapagos Islands, situated in the Pacific Ocean, offer different type of attraction. This whole area is known as the unique, amazingly rich marine ecosystem. Thanks to the ongoing seismic and volcanic activities, on this isolated location different complex processes allowed the development of simply amazing plant and animal life. Seeing it all on one place is incredible experience you shouldn't miss.

These unique ecosystems are so incredible that inspired Charles Darwin to write his Evolution Theory. He was here in 1834. There are so many specific life forms here, including different animal and bird species such as flightless cormorant, for example, or unique marine iguanas. Various endemic plants and incredible variety of bird species make this place a true Eden.

Three massive tectonic plates meet here. Thanks to that, this place has an unique geology as well. Larger young and smaller older islands meet at the same area, providing home for incredible diversity of marine life forms. Diving surrounded with these incredible animals and breath-taking corals is one incredible lifetime experience.
