Understanding Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars

By Patty Goff

Drag racing is a motorsport that tests speed of different vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles and speedboats, where you have to run from a standing start as quickly as possible. The sport originated from the United States. Drifting is a motor sport where drivers in front of their cars and do controlled wheel spinning maneuvers sideways on a paved path or loop (dirt track racing sprint cars). Several organized competitions include the D1 Grand Prix Racing Series.

Motorsport is in turn divided into several branches, where racing and rallying are the main. Following the numerous accidents that marked the Paris-Madrid race in 1903, the ACF and the civil authorities require the holding of such events on circuits only. Le Mans applied for membership, this city that saw the birth of the initial car sold (Amedee Bollee) receives the first Grand Prix (then Grand Prix ACF) in 1906 on a circuit of 103.16 km.

The land on which the race is performed, and in some cases the people involved (age, level, weight, sex). The trials were closer to parade as the actual race between Neuilly-sur-Seine and Versailles (since 1887) or hiking like the one organized by the Parisian newspaper Le Petit Journal in Paris and Rouen in 1894.

They have 102 registered drivers and only 32 make it. The following year, the pioneering racing event was organized: it's Paris-Bordeaux-Paris. Emile Levassor ended the first test on June 15 on a Panhard in 48 hours and 48 minutes. But there was no competition because his car was a two-seater while the regulations required a minimum of four seats with as many passengers than seats. It was a Peugeot driven by Paul Koechlin who won in 59 hours 48 minutes.

Other forms of racing are touring, where the world championship is called the World Touring Championship, and it competes vehicles that are basically designed for highway driving, and sports-car contests. Other forms include rallies, in which most routes run through the dirt roads, such as the desert. The biggest rally in the category is called the Dakar Rally, which originally ran between Paris to Dakar.

Offroad is a motor sport in which competitors drive on the terrain. The branches you can compete in are: Formula Offroad, Monster Race, Biltrial and Challenge. Everyone competes for example with standard vehicles, sports variants or formula vehicles. Rally called a car race which covers a relatively long distance and often lasts for several days. The vehicles used are registered that run in different classes depending on trim level.

In some cases, it is the nationality of carmaker that counts, not the driver. The first edition (1900) was run between Paris and Lyon, and saw the victory of Frenchman Henri Fournier on Mors. In 1902, the Columbia Edge as required; The 1903 edition will take place in Northern Ireland. Germany (1904) and France (1905) hold the following editions following the victories of their automobiles.

Rallycross is actually a speed competition with specially equipped cars on the closed path with gravel and asphalt surfaces. Line length is approximately 1000 meters. A rallycross race consists of one or more heats with several cars. An event can consist of several heats with summing the results achieved or trial heats with exclusion and finals.
