Fort Myers Florida, or The City of Palms, as it is also known, is now also a major tourist attraction.

J. N. Ding Darling, the celebrated cartoonist and ardent conservationist lent his name to the now famous Natural Wildlife Refuge, one of the main choices of visitors to the city. Host to fabulous wild wetlands with age old Mangrove forests, this 6000 acre park is also home to many species of wildlife. In addition, it is also a haven for more than 250 bird species.

As the name indicates, the estate contained the winter homes of both Edison and Ford.
