St Croix Vacation Rentals Where Dreams Begin

By Dawn Williams

If you were to follow the chain of Caribbean Islands from bottom to top you would eventually find the US Virgin Islands. In an atlas they will be just to the right of the island of Puerto Rico. Many agree that this is the perfect destination to get away from it all. With something to suit everyone's taste it makes a valid reason to explore St Croix vacation rentals.

Many feel that this is an ideal location to get married, others claim that its a perfect place to spend a honeymoon. Many elect to rent a villa to ensure that they get plenty of privacy. Plenty of married couples also return to this island on a regular basis. Quite a few families also spend their breaks here. Some prefer the beach front as a location, others choose the hillside areas.

There's always so much to do on the islands, and your time can be as busy or as relaxed as you choose. Whatever you decide, the weather is going to be fine. Almost everyday there is going to be sunshine and the average temperature is a very pleasant high 80F. Throughout the year there is only a 10% chance of rain.

This ideal weather leads to some glorious sunrise and sunsets. Where better to enjoy them than on a beach. The island has plenty of beaches for you to choose from.

With it not being a very large island there are various ways for the individual to get about. You will find taxis and cars for hire, also bikes too. Being an island there are always boats which sail between the islands, or even from one end to the other. If you feel more inclined you can always go horseback riding. For the more energetic there are also hiking trails.

How you choose to spend your day is entirely up to you. Maybe time spent on a white sand beach is your idea of heaven, some beaches are a lot more secluded than others. Maybe you would also like to try scuba diving on one of the many diving excursions, just think of shipwrecks, clear water and stunning sea-life. You could also take in a round of golf should you wish. Then there are also the guided tours that take in the rain forest areas.

Like many of this island's counterparts there is a rich history to the island. Visitors have included the Carib Indians and Columbus. The initial foreign settlers were the British and the Dutch, along with a few French. With the aid of sugar this island soon rose to prominence as one of the richest in the Caribbean. Even today tourists can explore the remnants of a grand plantation, another option is the old capital town of Christiansted.

The islands are waiting to welcome you, so now is a good time to begin looking at St Croix vacation rentals. Language is not going to present a problem as it is part of the US Virgin Islands. The sea food is wonderful and fresh. To get a taster maybe you should take a quick at a web camera for this island.
