Rubber Golf Tees Provide Many Advantages

By Tracie Knight

Golf like any sport is widely enjoyed across the world. This favorite pass time for men and women alike has been around for decades. Technology is helping the sport to evolve and become even more competitive, just look at rubber golf tees and you may find a nice opportunity to make an improvement.

Often the tee is considered the piece of plastic that holds the ball still, well that's the answer you will get from a beginner golfer. As you grow and learn the game you will notice different ways to play. Not only will you learn to adjust your stance, grip and swing, you will also look at what tee you are using on the course and in the driving ranges.

The conventional tee designed for just that, teeing off. This piece of plastic gets pushed into the ground allowing the gold ball clearance. This means when the golfer hits the ball there is less resistance from the surrounding grass and the ball travels more freely. A good tee off is often the deciding factor for that hole and often the set.

If your soil is very soft you will find it very hard to place your conventional tee. This means you will need to place it deeper into the soil to be more stable. Often this may hamper your shot and cause a bad first swing. By switching to rubber you will not have this problem. Even in soft grass the tee can be placed confidently.

Technology has changed the face of many things in the golfing game. It has changed things like shoes with different stud profiles to give more grip during that swing. It has changed the style and grips of gloves to give a smoother closer feel to the club. It has also changed the way you would tee off. The common plastic tee will never fade away, but it does have some competition.

For long grass areas use the adjustable tee, this will give you an advantage for sure. Not only does it give you a playing advantage but a safety advantage too. Often the plastic tees can break upon impact, if they are hit wrong. This can cause a shard of plastic to travel in almost any direction at an incredible speed. You don't want to be the person hit with that.

The rubber tee on the other hand is light weight and is designed not to travel very far if connected. The aerodynamics stops the travel shortly after it has taken place. This means that not only does no one get hurt, but even your tee remains intact and ready to reuse when needed. There is no doubt that there is a distinct advantage for using this.

So, if you are practicing and pushing yourself to be better, it really doesn't hurt to get a little more equipment to get there a little easier. It's still recommended that you start out "old school". Learn the ways and get better at them, then use the updated technology to get even better.
