There are a lot of activities that you, your family, and your friends can enjoy outdoors now that is it spring. You can have fun growing flowers or having picnics. But, if you would like an outdoor activity that you can enjoy with a large group, then try paintball.

Paintball is a growing sport that more and more people are starting to love. From the first game way back in 1981 up to the present times, the popularity of the sport has reached out to over 25 countries, including the United States. The sport is basically a game of tag where people shoot paint at each other from special guns. The aim of the game is to eliminate all sixteen members of opposing team by leaving upon their tactical paintball gear paint marks that are roughly the size of a quarter or larger.

It is also a very active sport that does not only bring amusement, but can harness some essential skills as well. A paintball enthusiast develops a profound sense of strategy as he makes his way about the field without getting himself marked. Agility is also developed as a player dodges opponents. Other skills include sportsmanship, cooperation, and unity.

Before playing, a player should be fully equipped. The most important weapon you need is a paintball gun. Guns used for this sport look like real guns, so you can get that soldier feel when you get into battle. Only difference is, the ammunition for these guns are not bullets, but paintball shells.

With the gun of course comes some ammunition. You do not need bullets. Instead, you will need some paint shells or barrels. These little babies have classified dimensions, and the most used is the . 68 caliber which measures 17.3 millimeters.

You will also need helmets and masks. Since this is a very active sport, chances are you might hit your head against something so it is best to be safe and equip yourself with a sturdy helmet. To protect your eyes and face from being splattered with paint, a mask is also a must. Just make sure that your mask does not fog, or it will interrupt your play. Masks with thermal lenses are the best option.

There is no standard outfit for this activity. Most players wear camouflage clothing but jeans and shirts are acceptable for casual games. Just wear tough but loose clothing with long sleeves, if possible. Also, wear those clothes that you do not mind getting torn or muddy.

A vest is also essential. You can get a protective kind which will decrease the impact of a shot, so that you will feel less pain every time you get hit. Or, if you can not part away with your phone and wallet while playing, you can get those types which are laden with pockets.

Remember, safety should always come first. Get yourself quality products from trusted brands. You can also rent yourself some gear or buy second hand ones from people you can trust. With the right equipment, nothing can stand in your way to become a great player.
