Make Sure You Know What The Eldora Speedway Weather Patterns Will Be

By Ina Hunt

On that big day, you will not want to be caught unprepared. Eldora Speedway weather forecasts will be able to give a person a heads up on what to expect while at the races. They are very detailed and give both the high and the low for each day as well as what the wind strength will be. They are even able to predict if it will remain stable or unstable.

The Craftsman Truck Series is pickup truck racing and is operated by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. These pickups are modified for this specific purpose. They are mechanically similar to the coupe shaped cars and the only difference is that they sport a more boxy shape to the cab. These are not designed to give a good aerodynamics the way stock cars are.

The speedway was bought by Tony Stewart who is a well known NASCAR driver, in the early 2000s. The original owner who built it from the ground up in 1954 was Earl Baltes. In order to keep safety a top priority a helipad and an infield care centre were added. This oval has new state of the art luxury suites at turn 3 where all the fans can enjoy live viewing and any replays of what happened on the track.

Earl Baltes had no previous racing experience but was very impressed by the way the crowd reacted while watching an event. He decided to build his own track because of it. Before he bought the speedway he purchased a ballroom and offered dance lessons every week as well as different musical performances. He later shortened all performances as the track grew more popular.

The track originally started off as a quarter mile length when it opened in the year 1954. In 1956 he expanded it to three eighth miles and again in 1958 so that it was the present half mile length. It became a very popular venue for sprint cars of the United States Auto Club.

Three years after the first race took place the first Eldora 500 began. It had 33 sprint cars and they had to do 500 laps. In 1967 he had already promoted seven other tracks and the 500 lap race fell away. In 1971 he held the World 100 and offered a $4.000 prize to the winner. Bruce Gould won and the event is now considered to have been the birth of the modern type of racing we are used to today.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is named after its current sponsor. It was originally known as Strictly Stock Series and then became known as the Grant National Series. The champion is determined by a point system. Points are given according to where they finished and how many laps that they led.

It does not matter what the weather is, all the races will go on. These are televised and are a very popular form of entertainment. Many people will take a day's leave just to ensure that they will be able to get a seat to watch this action live.
