Tour Destinations In South Africa

By Kyle Olsen

South Africa is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Holiday makers flock to SA from all over, all year long to see the stunning appeal this land has to show. Granted, summertime is the most popular time of year as summer is warm and dry, which allows for plenty to see and do, for all age groups. In this short article, we will reveal to you just a few of things that make this country such an excellent vacation area, and why it is called the Gem of Africa.

You can't go wrong when selecting South Africa holidays as your first option. Even us, the citizens, Capetonians, Durbanites, Jo'burgers, we know, and appreciate, that our own country has a great deal to offer by way of sights and entertainment for everybody, even the "challenging" one in the family will be delighted and enjoy themselves totally, when visiting South Africa for a, or "The" holiday.

Cape Town is called the Mother City and measures up to some of the most stunning cities in the world. And just to make the point stronger, Cape Town has actually gained award after award for World's Cleanest Beach and Africa's Leading Destination, just to mention two ... of the twenty two awards!

South Africa has always been known as the Gem of Africa. SA has a remarkable coastline that runs for over 3500 kilometers and some of the most gorgeous wine estates and boasts amazing cultural landmarks and tracks.

Another landmark of Cape Town is the V&A (Victoria and Alfred) Waterfront, which has a massive shopping center with a huge and really diverse , food court. It sports its own large Ferris wheel, with a VIP car. At the waterfront there is a lot to do, like the indoor craft market, the scratch patch (where you can dig around for semi-precious stones and you can purchase by the bucketful!) There are boat and ferry trips and chopper flips offered, in addition to shark cage diving. In the evening, the waterfront transforms into a wonderland of noise and light as the dining establishments fill up and live bands can be heard all over. You can even book a meal on a floating dining establishment and delight in the waterfront view from the deck of a boat.

You can also enjoy magnificent nature scenes when the wild flowers explode into bloom in the spring which calls forth all the pretty birds, for those who take pleasure in bird watching. For those who want to see something a little bigger, there is also whale watching.
