Places To Visit In Cardiff

By Poppy Hill

Thinking about spending a few days in Cardiff. The city is easily accessed from different modes of transport including taking your car. There are a number of different car parks around the city with some of the attractions offering free car parking. Here are a few places to visit when you are here in the capital city.

The bay believe it it not was actually a working dock land and was derelict after the work was transferred to other docks in the UK. The city decided to invest heavily and the transformation of the bay was complete and is unrecognisable today. This is a great place to grab a coffee and watch the world go by by taking a seat at any of the bars along the quay and be a people watcher for the day. Plenty to see and do around this area.

How about visiting a castle for a change and go on a walking tour around the monument with either a guided tour or just yourself with a hand held device in your own language. The staff are greatly informed about the history and can answer the many questions which you have. The castle itself is steeped in history and was restored to its earlier glory by the Butes which lovelessly created a Gothic style castle with all its regal rooms now on display to the public.

Anyone who likes to combine walking and ghost hunting can do so a short distance from the castle. Here you can take part in the procession around the city while carring torches to make the most of your night .

Any football or rugby fan will know that the stadium in Cardiff is called the Millennium and is situated along the River Taff beside the Angel Hotel inside the city centre. The stadium is not only used for sporting events but also high profile super stars such as Rihanna and others who have helped to the city popular.
