Packing For Small Trips

By Francis Mitchell

Arrived at your hotel and started the unpacking and then started to scream as you then realise you have left a number of items that you can't live without back home. We have all been there and now have the tee shirt. How do you solve your problem? By these few simple steps.

It is not just the simple luxury items which you may have forgotten what about the business trip your on and the forgotten report or presentation for your meeting. How do you replace those precious things? Your office may be closed for the holiday period and you live alone so can't ask anyone to head into the office for you and fax or scan your documents. By following the simple rules you can take the headache out of forgotten packing.

A list sounds boring but is essential when going on holiday for personal or business reasons. Short trips don't require as much as a long 7 day or 14 days stay away from home. Why not create a list for all different scenarios for all different types of trips. Put the basic but essentials on all your lists such as toiletries , underwear , night wear and shoes. Then pack the clothes according to the what type of trip you are on.

Nearly everyone in Europe is now using cabin size cases which will cut down on the number of liquids which can be carried on board. Have you thought about purchasing small miniature size toiletries instead of travelling with the large bottles or shampoo or lotions or shaving foams. This will use about a third of your normal creams and potions. Leaving you more room in your case.

Not forgetting your passport or driving licenses. It always amazing the amount of travellers who forget their passport or turn up with an out of date passport. Also travellers who forget their licenses and are planning on renting a car. Why not keep all your travel documents safe in the one wallet so you don't need to search or forget them on your next trip.
