Student Group Travel Can Be A Whole Lot Of Fun

By Chelsea Evans

With the annual student group travel tour coming up, there is much excitement in the air at the local high school. Everyone is thrilled as this year it is a trip to a theme park, a trip to a movie set and the ice extravaganza followed by a scuba diving course. After that it is the trip home on the train.

Organizing such a trip takes a lot of negotiation and arranging. There are a number of people involved and each one has a job to do. When arranging such a trip one has to get the best prices you possibly can. One has to try to keep the costs of such a trip as low as possible so that everyone can take advantage of it.

Travelling needs to be taken into consideration as when travelling with many students you need to book out entire buses. This means that the bus company must have their payment upfront to secure their income for the day. Fortunately this type of booking means reduced rates.

When making bookings for a volume of people many companies are willing to reduce their rates, especially when they hear that it is for a group of kids. The only glitch comes in that they want their fees paid in advance so as to guarantee the sale of the ticket. If you do not fill the space the company will still have received its money so they do not really mind who takes it or of its not taken at all.

When it comes to arranging the trip to the theme park you have to book some busses to get the students there. Once you are there you have to pay the teller for the amount of people entering. Usually this is not done in advance but rather on the day at a special rate depending on how many kids there are.

When it comes to booking the places on the tour vehicles at the movie set, you are to pay in advance as they make many bookings for individuals on these vehicles and if you want the group to be kept together, you have to order the seats in advance. Here they will give you a reduction in the fee if there are more than 20 people.

The ice show insists that if there are more than 20 people you have to make a block booking to get a discount in price, but this does not include the front row tickets. You have to sit in the middle of the row. The company wants to be able to guarantee the seat has been booked and paid for in advance.

When booking the scuba diving course, they require you to pay upfront and then will only give you a discount for the kids younger than 14. This means that the majority of them have to pay in full. The company feels that some of the older kids will take more effort when training. A block booking is once again insisted upon.

For student group travel trip home on the train, all fees have to be paid in full in advance. This ensures that the train company will have a place for each student to sleep and eat. Once again you will receive a special rate if you book for more than 20 people over the age of 15.
