Visit The Pyramids Of Egypt Tour

By Danielle Galloway

Almost all of the Pyramids of Egypt tour are a wonder to the modern man. They have been standing since about 2000 years before common era, and will be there for a thousand more years. These structures have lived through hundreds of generations, and outlasted several natural disasters. They are the only testament to the true powers of the ancient pharaohs.

Giza holds the most popular structures in Egypt. It houses the biggest and richest of the tombs around the country. The pyramids here resemble a perfect shape, and they measure in exact as if they were computed by advanced architectural tools. A lot of scientists wonder how the Egyptians came up with such complicated math, provided that they do not have the advance technology to help them out in such complicated computations.

The whole architectural notion of the pyramid is attributed to Imhotep, who wanted to build a magnificent tomb for their pharaoh Djoser. Imhotep came up with the idea of stacking steps on top of one another, starting with a really wide base, then decreasing in size as the steps progress upwards. This creates a structure that is large at the base, and very narrow and pointed at the tip; basically, a pyramid.

The possibility of building the great pyramid at that time was because of the highly centralized government of Egypt. The pharaohs were deemed as gods, and during that time, all power and resources were centralized to the pharaoh. That being the case, all the manpower was directed towards the building of the Pharaoh's tomb. In the later years, when the government was not as centralized anymore, the pyramid of the pharaohs were not as big as in the early years.

The general idea during the early years of the study of these structures was that they were built as burial monuments for the kings and pharaohs. However, the architecture inside and the way these structures were built suggest another purpose for these complicated buildings. They may have been designed as some kind of resurrection structure where the light of the night sky is directed towards the actual corpse of the pharaoh.

Another wonderful structure that could be found in the land of the dessert of the Sphinx. The sphinx is only a mythical creature, composed of half man and half lion. It has the body of a big lion, but the head of a woman, on its sides span large wings of a bird. The sphinx is known to give riddles to men, and those who are unable to answer these questions are eaten up by this creature.

The sphinx was built to house the tomb of Pharaoh Khafra's wife. It was known that she is one of the very few queens to have been worshipped as well. A lot of theories have risen as to why these two monuments were built so close to each other, if there was a science behind it, or some logic that ancient Egyptians knew of.

The great Pyramids of Egypt tour are definitely a sight to be seen. They can shock anyone to their knees as to how grand and amazing these buildings are. One can only imagine how much work, effort, and resources were put into building this tomb for the worship of one man alone.
