By Andrea Davidson

1950s jewelry had a very unique appearance. Much as they were used in those olden days, people in the recent days still use them. This is following the fact that some of them like their appearance, while others just want to appreciate a lot about what was done by their ancestors.

Among the most commonly used materials were those obtained from wildlife. These ones ranged from the big animal parts to other small animal parts such as the feathers of some varieties of birds. The individuals who indulged in preparing these ones had to go out hunting for these animals either for meals or for this primary purpose. Those who were not good hunters purchased their raw materials from the hunting people.

The individuals who used these adorning components felt very good about themselves. It is majorly because they had that natural feeling in them and made them feel very good especially when they were designed according to their traditions. The artisans on the other hand did not struggle much in terms of getting the raw materials. This is especially for those who had the skill to go out into the forests and do the hunting by themselves.

Other artisans did not appreciate the factor of destroying animals in their natural habitat. These ones as such resorted to using other natural materials but not animal parts. Their commodities were made from some materials obtained from various trees in the environment. The most common part of these trees that was used was the beads. These ones had to possess some give qualities before they were selected as the right ones for use in this industry.

These ones too were even better. The people were not exposed to some risks such as attack by dangerous species during the hunting exercise. Besides the people who were involved in the preparation did not need very complex tools, to have the jewels ready. However, the trees that were used took quite some time before regenerating the beads. This then hindered the artisans from continuous making of these jewels.

Other people did their operations from industries that were run using some levels of technology. These ones are the individuals who dealt in making the metallic jewels. The commodities used to get them to their final form were highly sophisticated and expensive. The people too needed some good levels of skill in order to merit in their word. Some individuals who were of high classes resorted to using some materials such as silver and even gold.

These ones made the people using them feel very good and great in the society. The people who also dealt in their sale mad the highest amounts of money. Some of them could be made from local environments, hence resulting to higher profits when sold. The industrial ones however were considered so prestigious.

1950s jewelry was in a wide array. It then was up to the people using it to select that which they felt was the best material for them. As such, the artisans who prepared these commodities were assured of market, whichever the material used was.
